Q. What is Direct Primary Care?
A. Direct Primary Care is a membership-based healthcare model where the patient pays a monthly or annual membership fee to receive comprehensive primary medical care. Q. Do I still need insurance?
A. Yes, we recommend that you have major medical insurance with at least a high deductible to cover large medical bills such as a catastrophic illness, medical emergencies or hospitalizations. You should consult your insurance provider to help you find an insurance plan that works well with our model.
Q. If I have Medicare, can I still become a member/ patient of 1Team Wellness?
A. Yes. However, at this time, our services cannot be submitted to Medicare or Medicaid for reimbursement. While we welcome patients who may have Medicare, all Medicare and Medicaid patients are required to sign an agreement stating that they understand that visits at 1Team Wellness are not billable to Medicare/Medicaid.
Q. What does my membership fee cover?
A. The monthly membership fee covers virtually unlimited access to our primary care practice, including wellness visits, yearly physicals, acute/ sick visits such as illness or injuries, as well as the management of chronic medical conditions. Members also have access to deeply discounted labs/diagnostics and prescription medication.
Q. What if I am traveling and away from home?
A. By using our telehealth technology or simply our telephones many conditions can be diagnosed and treated from virtually anywhere. If appropriate, we will locate a nearby pharmacy and order medication best suited for your circumstance. If you need to go to the hospital or seek other medical attention while away from home, we can advise you on that as well.
